I only knit socks and gloves and don't feel I'm a failure. Sweaters are beyond my patience or speed, and I don't spin.

Go easy on yourself and be pleased with what you do and not distressed because of what you don't.

P.S. good luck with the new wheel.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23458391.post-51986392477675526202009-01-04T10:02:00.000-05:002009-01-04T10:02:00.000-05:00Happy New Year! Not everyone loves to knit sweaters, but that seems to be some hallowed benchmark of being a Knitter. Knit socks, knit wristies and scarves, knit lace, knit whatever strikes your fancy. And maybe getting that small project done will do more for your mojo (and inspire small boundary-stretching spinning projects) than a slog of a sweater will.Margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08861297918893925879noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23458391.post-81407102031626778312009-01-02T10:18:00.000-05:002009-01-02T10:18:00.000-05:00Do whatever you have to do to get your mojo back. ...Do whatever you have to do to get your mojo back. If the back pain won't let you dance, at least march to the music - and sing. Make up your own words.
Motion, laughing, and silliness are great ways to fight malaise.
Keep your chin up!gaylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09208168224439515489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23458391.post-40842789950226503872009-01-02T07:31:00.000-05:002009-01-02T07:31:00.000-05:00Somedays kicking and screaming is the only way to ...Somedays kicking and screaming is the only way to go.

yes, small projects--that's all I freaking do!Bezziehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11359396377873745454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23458391.post-15991868663544580792009-01-01T22:38:00.000-05:002009-01-01T22:38:00.000-05:00I think more small projects is a good idea. And everyone is so impressed.

But let me tell you... last night while I was lying in bed shivering (you know, before it all got warmed up), I was thinking about a nice warm wool blanket and how good that would be. And I was thinking about your big Lamb's Pride Log Cabin blanket. I was super impressed at how well you stuck with that. All that garter stitch! So, don't sell yourself short.Elizabethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04278529449974055377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23458391.post-14316494413843507802009-01-01T21:38:00.000-05:002009-01-01T21:38:00.000-05:00Small goals in different domains? Recognize that there is no secret that you have to uncover in spinning, and it all is just doing more of it in smaller bits, and evaluating smaller bits rather than waiting for the whole fleece to be done before you evaluate?

Or not.

I have done similar math for my trajectory and haven't been pleased. Not even half, but I still find myself wasting time. So I give myself a kick ever so often by taking a few days and finishing a couple of projects or making the firm decision that I am not going to finish it and either give it away or throw it out. That always helps me motivate!

Good luck with the weather! I hear it is dreadful miserable depressing. I would burrow under the covers and sleep till spring if I could!

kick kick kick - just like the rockettes!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
